Andre Crockett
Owner/ Founder
Andre Crockett was raised in a franchise, gang-ridden crime-infested portion of Las Vegas known as Donna Street. Reared by a single mother Alice Jean Hecker. Andre was encouraged to reach beyond his circumstances and embrace success, inheriting the bugging acumen of his grandfather, Johnny Crockett Sr, he did just that. He matriculated through the Clark County school district and became an employee following his mother's example, who became the Dorcas of the neighborhood, Andre served others. His joy and life help the less fortunate. He did this through serving in churches, paying other bills, feeding the hungry, taking in the homeless, and leading others to Christ. Since he was a little boy Andre had a dream of becoming a mortician. His family tells the story of how he would take refrigerator boxes and pretend they were Caskets. He would have his siblings and cousins lay in them and have pretend funerals. As life would have it this act prophesied his destiny. After graduating from Rancho High School in 1975, Andre became the first Black to attend a junior premedical class at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital. His grandmother Lula Bell Crockett, who worked there, placed him in the lab with Dr. Mondre and assisted him in doing the autopsy, this began his extensive experiences in the medical field, including emergency room lab, assisted, phlebotomist, nursing assistant, transporter, and dialysis technician. During his lifetime, he faced much trauma, tragedy, personal disappointments, financial disaster, critical illnesses, and the passing of his precious mother. Despite the setbacks, Andre was determined to exceed all expectations, and he did in 2015 with determination and favor Mr. Crockett along with other partners opened up Serenity Funeral Home, this family center business brought a lavish and glamorous twist to the city that has yet to be emulated, it is here that he continues to serve the community by an employee and training it citizens and using local businesses for supplies besides his gifted hands and compassionate heart Andre brings comfort through his melodious, singing voice.
